Homeschool Year Prep Session in a Minimal Space Area

Due to our flooded basement (we call it the FEMA disaster site), homeschool this school year will be held upstairs instead of our classroom. That's ok, we adapt, right?! Mama Eggins Update

The little broody bantam that could... our little Bantam decided to get broody again, about a month ago. We went through the process of marking her eggs and taking out any new eggs from other hens. Around 21 days into the process, when chicks are supposed to be hatching, we candled the eggs for viability. Alas, no activity, no chicks.

As soon as we let all the chickens back into the coop for the night, she immediately returned to her now empty box. Poor girl. We hope she comes out of this broodiness ok. We have so much to learn about chicken breeding. Shouldn't it just happen naturally?!

Welcome!
